About WIYSWestern Iowa Youth Sports Inc. (WIYS) provides opportunities for Southwest Iowa youth to play tackle football and cheerleading at no cost. We believe that no young person should be denied the opportunity to participate in sports because of costly registration fees and equipment. We finance the purchase of our equipment, field and gym rental and other expenses through concessions, private donations, and our main fundraiser - an annual raffle. Every year, demand for our programs has increased. Through the generosity of Southwest Iowa individuals, businesses and other organizations, we've grown from having just one football team in 1991 to having 20 in 2003. We've also added volleyball and cheerleading to serve a wider variety of interests. WIYS is lucky to have a large group of positive volunteer coaches who love coaching children. Their generous time commitment and personal dedication make this program successful, positive and well-respected in the metro area. WIYS is a non-profit Iowa corporation, with an IRS 501(c)(3) designation. This allows any individual or business to make tax deductible contributions to our organization. We are also eligible for most employer matching funds programs.
